Mumbai: Girl molested on local journey; Investigation started by Borivali Railway Police


A 25-year-old girl was molested during a local journey on Wednesday at Jogeshwari station. Borivali Lohmarg Police informed that the search is on for the accused who molested the girl. The girl was traveling in the first class coach of the Harbor local going to Goregaon from CSMT on Wednesday morning.

At that time, A man, who was around 40 years old, was sitting near the door of this compartment. As soon as she arrived at the local Jogeshwari station, the young woman was preparing to get off the platform. At the same time this man molested her and he ran away. Due to this incident, the girl suffered a lot of mental shock. She immediately reached the Andheri Lohmarg Police Station and informed the police about the incident. But since Jogeshwari station comes under Borivali Lohmarg police station, the case was classified there.

The police registered a case of molestation and the Lohmarg police checked the footage from the CCTV cameras at each station. Anil Kadam, Senior Police Inspector of Borivali Lohmarg Police Station said that this man gets down at every station and stands again at the local door. He speculated that this man must be a psychopath. But many things will become clear only after the arrest of the accused, Kadam said.

The young woman reported the molestation on social media. Also, this young woman has alleged that the employees of Andheri Lohmarg police station did not cooperate while filing the complaint. Meanwhile, the Andheri Lohmarg Police has denied this allegation.
