IND vs PAK T20 World Cup: Virat pulls victory from Pakistan's pocket; Big Diwali gift to Indians

India defeated Pakistan by 4 wickets in the last ball match. Virat Kohli's strong innings led the Indian team to win.
The World Cup match between India and Pakistan took place in Melbourne today, in which India started the World Cup strongly by defeating Pakistan by four wickets in a match that was played till the last ball. Virat Kohli scored 83 runs in 53 balls. He was awarded the man of the match award. The Indian team got off to a poor start chasing Pakistan's 160-run challenge. Both India's openers returned with 4 runs each. Naseem Shah poached KL Rahul while Haris Raouf poached skipper Rohit Sharma.

Suryakumar Yadav, who came after the dismissal of Rohit-Rahul, got off to a flying start by hitting a boundary on the very first ball. But after scoring 15 runs off 10 balls, Haris Raouf's pace caught him off guard. After Suryakumar's dismissal, the Indian team promoted left-hander Akshar Patel to No.5 to increase the pace against Shadab Khan, Nawaz. But he was dismissed for 2 runs. While batting for the Indian team, Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 82 off 53 balls. He also hit 4 sixes and 6 fours during this run. Apart from him, Hardik Pandya also contributed 40 runs. It included 1 four and 2 sixes. Apart from these two, not a single batsman could cross the 2 figure score. Skipper Rohit Sharma returned to the tent for just 4 runs.

Earlier, the Indian team won the toss and elected to bowl first. Justifying Rohit Sharma's decision, Arshdeep Singh did not allow Pakistan captain Babar Azam to crack a pumpkin in the first over. Then, in the last ball of the second over, Pakistan's star batsman Mohammad Rizwan was dismissed. He was also supported by Hardik Pandya. All-rounder Pandya took three wickets to bring Team India back into the match. Both Shaan Masood and Iftikhar Ahmed contributed to Pakistan's tally with half-centuries. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami took one wicket each for India. The Indian bowlers are still failing to contain the run rate in the last five overs and this issue needs serious attention.
